Collins Sefa President John Dramani Mahama has directed the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, to lead the organization of the second edition of the Kwahu Business Forum, a bold initiative designed to promote entrepreneurship, empower local businesses, and accelerate Ghana’s economic transformation.
The forum, scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Kwahu Mpraeso in the Eastern Region, is part of the government’s wider efforts to stimulate private sector development, reduce unemployment, and position entrepreneurship as the backbone of the national economy.
A National Platform for Enterprise-Driven Development
Speaking at a media briefing at the Presidency, Mr. Debrah highlighted the importance of the forum in shaping the future of Ghana’s economic landscape.
“This initiative will gradually evolve into a national business platform, creating space for collaboration between entrepreneurs, investors, and government to build a thriving private sector,” he said.
He underscored President Mahama’s vision of building a legacy where entrepreneurial innovation, private investment, and job creation become central pillars of Ghana’s development agenda.
Empowering the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs
In addition to fostering growth for established businesses, Mr. Debrah revealed that the forum would empower youth and women through skills development and mentorship programs.
“This is about unlocking the full potential of our human capital by providing access to training, investment opportunities, and supportive policies,” he noted.
The forum is expected to boost revenue generation, attract both local and foreign investments, and expand business prospects for SMEs across various regions and sectors. According to Mr. Debrah, the government aims to make the forum an annual event, with plans to broaden its reach in future editions.

The Chief of Staff encouraged Ghanaian entrepreneurs, youth, and business leaders to actively participate, describing the forum as a national movement to build economic resilience and entrepreneurial empowerment.
“This is not just a Kwahu event. It is a bold national step toward sustainable development, job creation, and private sector-led prosperity,” he stressed.
