Leadership Reflections
Speaking after the event, Ing. Patricia Obo-Nai, who also featured on the cover of Digital Future Magazine by the organisers, said the recognition validates Telecel’s vision of combining operational excellence with social purpose.
“This portfolio of awards validates the hard work our teams are putting into shaping a customer-focused telecom business that values innovation and social impact,” she said. “These awards show that the industry recognises both our performance and our purpose.”
Recognising Industry Excellence
Established in 2018, the National Technology and Communications Awards have become a benchmark for excellence in digital innovation, service delivery, and corporate social responsibility in Ghana.
Delivering a keynote on behalf of the Presidency, Deputy Chief of Staff Nana Oye Bampoe Addo spoke on the theme “AI-Powered Future: Innovation, Transformation & Impact in Ghana’s Digital Economy.”
“The future of development will be driven by individuals and businesses who evolve to meet the changing times,” she said. “As government works to position Ghana as a hub of innovation and technology, we envision a future where artificial intelligence and humans collaborate to build a sustainable nation.”
A Milestone in Telecel’s Growth Journey
Telecel Ghana’s nine-award triumph comes at a defining moment in its post-rebrand growth strategy, as the company continues to invest in network modernization, digital experience, and community-driven initiatives.
Rita Rockson, Head of Foundation, Sustainability, and External Communications, said the Foundation’s recognition reflects Telecel’s long-term commitment to social progress.
“The DigiTech Academy and our Red Hearts programme reflect our devotion to expanding digital literacy, strengthening inclusion, and building resilience in communities,” she said. “These awards demonstrate that intentional corporate social investment delivers real value — for society and for business.”
Balancing Technology and Humanity
Telecel’s strong performance across both technical and social categories illustrates its dual strategy: enhancing service delivery while positioning itself as a community-centered telecom brand.
With its continued focus on innovation, inclusivity, and customer experience, Telecel Ghana is redefining what leadership means in the digital era.
