Empowering Africa’s Entrepreneurs: AEA Hosts 2nd Business Funding Summit 2025

The African Entrepreneurship Academy (AEA) successfully hosted its 2nd Business Funding Summit at the GNAT Hall in Accra. The highly anticipated event brought together a vibrant community of entrepreneurs and some of the most influential financial institutions and investors committed to supporting Africa’s economic growth through enterprise development.

Key financial institutions including UBA, Access Bank, ADB, and Fido Business were present to discuss their funding schemes and how entrepreneurs at various stages—startups, SMEs, and growth-stage businesses—can access support. Government representation came from the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), offering insight into national support programs and grant opportunities.

A highlight of the summit was the participation of Mr. Roland, a UK-based angel investor, who shared valuable insights on investment readiness and what global investors look for in African ventures. The event also featured representatives from the AEA Venture Fund, who introduced attendees to upcoming funding rounds tailored specifically for members of the AEA network.

The summit served as a platform for open dialogue, networking, and the exchange of ideas that will shape the future of entrepreneurship in Africa.

“We are thrilled with the turnout and the quality of conversations today,” said a spokesperson from AEA. “It shows how determined African entrepreneurs are to scale and grow, and we are proud to be at the center of that movement.”

This summit reinforced the idea that when financial institutions, government agencies, venture funds, and private investors come together, they can create a more enabling environment for startups and SMEs. It also highlighted that entrepreneurs need not only capital but also financial literacy, mentorship, and visibility to succeed.

By showcasing real funding options—from banks like UBA and Access, to innovative platforms like FIDO Business, and direct angel investment—AEA is positioning itself as a bridge between opportunity and impact, nurturing a resilient entrepreneurial ecosystem across Africa.
