AEA KickStarter Summit 2026: Key Insights & Programs for Entrepreneurs

The African Entrepreneurship Academy (AEA) officially launched its 2026 activities with Entrepreneurship KickStarter Summit held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Christ the King Hall in Accra.

Organized in partnership with the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) and the Federation of Professional Trade Associations of Ghana (FEPTAG), the summit brought together startup founders, SME operators, and growth-stage entrepreneurs under the theme: “Kickstarting 2026 – Positioning Entrepreneurs for Growth and Impact.”

Focus on Execution and Strategic Positioning

The summit centered on helping entrepreneurs transition from planning to execution in 2026. Organizers emphasized the need for clarity, stronger business models, and sustainable systems that enable measurable impact.
Participants engaged in keynote sessions, panel discussions, and facilitated conversations focused on leadership, innovation, scalability, and business structure.

Founder Dependency Highlighted as a Major Growth Barrier

One of the standout sessions was delivered by Mr. Wilson Senya, who addressed the issue of founder dependency — a challenge affecting many SMEs.
He explained how excessive reliance on the founder for daily operations, decision-making, and client relationships often limits business growth. Entrepreneurs were encouraged to build systems, delegate effectively, and develop operational structures that allow their businesses to function independently of constant founder supervision.
The session sparked significant engagement among attendees, particularly startup founders navigating early growth stages.

Entrepreneurs Urged to Understand Their Teams

Rev. Patrick Otieku delivered a leadership-focused session emphasizing the importance of understanding team dynamics. He encouraged entrepreneurs to build complementary teams, strengthen emotional intelligence, and align team capacity with business vision.
His presentation underscored the role of internal structure and culture in determining long-term sustainability.

AEA Introduces “Get on the Web” Initiative for SMEs

A key highlight of the summit was the introduction of AEA’s “Get on the Web” project, an initiative designed to boost digital visibility for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Under the program, AEA will fund website design and development for selected SMEs. Beneficiary businesses will only be required to pay for hosting and domain registration.
The announcement was widely welcomed by participants, particularly early-stage entrepreneurs seeking affordable pathways to establish an online presence.

Scholarships, Networking and Certification

In addition to the keynote sessions, attendees gained access to scholarship opportunities, high-level networking, and a Certificate of Participation.
The event attracted a diverse cross-section of Ghana’s entrepreneurial community, reinforcing AEA’s positioning as a practical support platform for business growth.
With strong institutional backing and actionable insights delivered, the Entrepreneurship KickStarter Summit set the tone for what AEA described as a year focused on execution, structure, and impact-driven enterprise development in 2026.
