Collins Sefa The AI Collective, a global nonprofit championing responsible artificial intelligence, has officially launched its first African chapter in Ghana, positioning the country as a key hub for AI-driven entrepreneurship and innovation across the continent.
Empowering Ghanaian Entrepreneurs Through AI
The AI Collective Ghana Chapter aims to accelerate AI adoption among startups, tech entrepreneurs, and public sector innovators, focusing on solutions that drive economic growth, job creation, and social impact.
Dr. Kwami Ahiabenu, Chapter Lead and a member of the AI Collective Global Expansion Team, emphasized the entrepreneurial potential of the initiative:
“This Ghana Chapter is a launchpad for entrepreneurs to co-create solutions using AI that enhance productivity and profitability, especially for local businesses. It’s about building a future where AI serves everyone — responsibly and inclusively.”
AI for Public Innovation and Startup Ecosystems
The chapter was officially inaugurated on Thursday, July 3, with a high-impact event themed:
“AI for Ghana’s Public Sector – Driving Innovation & Efficiency.”
Held at Emerging Public Leaders Ghana in East Legon, Accra, the event brought together over 60 stakeholders — including tech founders, public officials, policy influencers, and investors — to explore AI’s role in boosting government innovation, startup growth, and cross-sector efficiency.

Catherine McMillan, Founding Director of the AI Collective, noted:
