All activities lined up for Ghana’s 68th Independence Anniversary

Ghana’s 68th Independence Anniversary is set to feature a series of events from February 28 to March 6, 2025. Here’s a summary of the planned activities:

  • February 28, 2025: Commemoration of the 28th February Crossroad Shooting Incident at Nationalism Park, 8:00 AM.

  • March 2, 2025: Finals of a nationwide school quiz competition.

  • March 4, 2025: Finals of a national debate competition.

  • March 5, 2025: President’s School Children Awards Programme, recognizing outstanding students.

  • March 6, 2025: Ceremonial parade at the forecourt of the Presidency, marking Independence Day.

In the lead-up to the 28th February commemoration, the National Celebrations Planning Committee (NCPC) will share educational content across various media platforms to engage the public, especially the youth. An X-space conversation titled ‘The Changing Face of Civil Protests in Ghana: Lessons from the Past and Present’ will also be hosted by the Communications Subcommittee.

The NCPC encourages media outlets, bloggers, and the public to actively participate and share information to promote public engagement in these significant national events.
