Bolgatanga Technical University Secures EU Grant for Digital Skills Project

Bolgatanga Technical University (BTU) has received a US$100,000 grant from the European Union to launch a two-and-a-half-year pilot project aimed at equipping graduates with advanced digital skills to boost employability and entrepreneurship.

The Integrated Digital Competency and Jobs Accelerator Project (IDAP) will establish a Digital Skills and Employability Hub on BTU’s Sumbrungu Campus, offering training in artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, data analytics, and cybersecurity.

Funded under the EU–Ghana Pact for Skills and supported by the UN Capital Development Fund, the initiative will strengthen industry partnerships, align curricula with market needs, and create more opportunities for internships, mentorships, and industrial tours.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Samuel Erasmus Alnaa described the grant as a “significant opportunity” for students to gain relevant skills and contribute to Ghana’s development.
