CIB Kenya Appoints Abhinav Nehra as New CEO and MD

CIB Kenya has named Abhinav Nehra as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director, bringing on board an accomplished leader with over three decades of expertise in the banking and payments industry across Africa, Asia, and other emerging markets.

A Proven Leader in Banking and Payments

Nehra’s career includes key leadership roles at renowned financial institutions such as CitiGroup, United Bank for Africa (UBA), Network International, and Ecobank Transnational. His impressive track record is marked by several transformational achievements:

  • Ecobank Transnational: Restructured and managed the bank’s retail and commercial banking portfolio spanning 34 African nations.
  • UBA: Expanded retail financial services from 2 to 16 markets across Africa.
  • Network International: Oversaw operations in Francophone and East Africa, leading the largest “Payment as a Service” platform in the region.
  • CitiGroup: Built and scaled CitiFinancial India into one of the company’s most successful consumer finance businesses.
