Collins Sefa Ghana has stepped up efforts to strengthen international digital partnerships at the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) 2025 in Baku, Azerbaijan, holding key bilateral talks with the Dominican Republic to advance cooperation in telecommunications and ICT innovation.
The meeting forms part of Ghana’s broader push to accelerate digital transformation, expand its ICT ecosystem and deepen strategic alliances within the global technology community.
The Dominican Republic delegation highlighted their country’s ongoing focus on enhancing its telecommunications sector, as well as preparations for the nation’s upcoming 100-year anniversary with the ITU. They also noted their recent election to the ITU Council, which they described as a major milestone in their digital development agenda.
Ghana, in turn, shared updates on its bid for election to the ITU Council and its campaign for re-election to the Radio Regulations Board (RRB). Officials emphasised Ghana’s commitment to contributing to global telecommunications governance and advancing equitable digital access.
The discussions underscored both countries’ commitment to fostering innovation, strengthening policy collaboration and jointly pursuing opportunities within the ITU framework.
