Daniel McKorley, the Executive Chairman of the McDan Group, has called on young entrepreneurs to move beyond prayer and take bold steps toward achieving their goals, emphasizing that faith without action is meaningless.
Speaking at the 2025 edition of PCH Hangouts held at ICGC The New Wine Temple in East Legon, McDan highlighted that success comes through hard work and persistence, not mere wishes.
“There is nothing Pastor Okran can do for you if you are lazy. There is nothing God can do for you if you pray and fast for 100 days but fail to take a step,” he declared, referencing James 2:17, which states, “Faith without works is dead.”
From Humble Beginnings to Business Success
Sharing his personal journey, McDan reflected on his humble beginnings—selling kerosene, working as a driver’s mate, and enduring financial struggles. He urged young people to stop waiting for miracles and start taking action toward their dreams.
“Many people pray for success, but are we ready to work for it? You cannot dream of becoming a great entrepreneur and yet fear taking the first step,” he told the audience.
He explained that waiting on God does not mean being idle but actively working towards one’s goals.
“Waiting means working. Waiting means taking action. Waiting means sowing seeds in faith, even when you don’t see results,” he added.
Embracing Failure and Building Resilience
McDan encouraged young entrepreneurs to embrace failure as part of their growth journey, stating that setbacks should not deter their ambitions.
“Never be afraid to fail. What you accept will never upset you. If you accept that failure is part of the journey, when it comes, you won’t be frustrated,” he advised.
From Vision to Reality
The event, themed “From Vision to Reality: Turning Business Ideas into Action,” provided a platform for young entrepreneurs to learn from McDan’s experiences.
His core message was clear: Faith must be accompanied by bold, consistent action to achieve success.
“God has been good to us, but you must take a step toward your vision. If you don’t move, nothing will happen,” McDan concluded.
