BTA2023 MTN Ghana has announced that it will pay a total dividend of GH¢3.176 billion to its shareholders for the 2024 financial year. This follows a recommendation by the Board of Directors to declare a gross final dividend of GH¢0.24 per share, pending shareholder approval.
The telecom giant reported an impressive profit of GH¢5.028 billion in 2024, reaffirming its strong financial performance.
Key Dividend Dates and Eligibility
MTN Ghana has outlined the following important dates for shareholders:

Ex-Dividend Date: Wednesday, 2nd April 2025
- Investors who purchase MTN Ghana shares before this date will be eligible for the final dividend.
- Investors buying shares on or after this date will not qualify for the dividend.

Qualification Date: Thursday, 4th April 2025
- Shareholders registered in Scancom PLC’s books by this date will qualify for the final dividend.

Dividend Payment Date: Wednesday, 16th April 2025
- The dividend will be electronically transferred to the bank accounts or mobile money wallets of shareholders who have opted for these facilities.
MTN Ghana emphasized in its 2024 Audited Financial Report that all dividends are subject to tax deductions as required by law.
The company currently has 13,236,175,050 ordinary shares in circulation, meaning shareholders can expect strong returns as MTN Ghana continues to dominate the telecommunications industry in Ghana.
