Republic Bank Ghana Appoints Venus Francis Frith as Chief Operating Officer

Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC has announced the appointment of Venus Francis Frith as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mr. Frith officially assumed the role on December 20, 2024, following approval from the Bank of Ghana.

Responsibilities of the New COO

In his capacity as COO, Mr. Frith will oversee key operational areas of the bank, including Republic Trust, Corporate Banking, Custody, and International Trade Services. Additionally, he will serve as a key support figure to the Managing Director and provide oversight responsibilities in the MD’s absence.

A statement issued by the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) highlighted Mr. Frith’s critical role in driving operational excellence and contributing to the bank’s strategic goals.

A Seasoned Banker with Over Two Decades of Experience

Venus Francis Frith brings over 20 years of banking expertise, having started his career in 2000 with Republic Bank Limited, headquartered in Trinidad and Tobago. Over the years, he has ascended through various roles, including General Manager, honing his skills in:

  • Operations
  • Retail and Commercial Lending
  • Corporate Lending
  • Risk Management
  • Investment Banking

Before joining Republic Bank Ghana, Mr. Frith served as the General Manager of Credit at Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and technical acumen.

Mr. Frith holds a BSc. in Banking & Finance and an MSc. in International Finance, credentials that underpin his ability to navigate the complexities of modern banking.

A New Chapter for Republic Bank Ghana

Commenting on the appointment, Benjamin Dzoboku, Managing Director of Republic Bank Ghana, expressed enthusiasm about Mr. Frith’s arrival.

“Mr. Frith is joining us at a time when his vast experience and expertise are critical to achieving our five-year strategic vision, aptly named Republic Verse,” Mr. Dzoboku stated. He further assured the board, management, and staff’s full support to help Mr. Frith excel in his role.
