Smartphone brand TECNO has unveiled its roadmap for Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, promising a showcase that blends affordable flagship smartphones, AI-powered imaging, and experimental concept devices that hint at the future of mobile design.
Under the theme “Pioneering the Connection of Intelligence,” TECNO says its MWC presence will focus on how artificial intelligence can transform creativity, productivity and everyday connectivity, particularly across emerging markets where the brand has built strong momentum.
CAMON 50 series to anchor TECNO’s MWC showcase
At the centre of TECNO’s exhibition will be the CAMON 50 series, the latest evolution of its imaging-focused smartphone lineup. Building on the success of previous CAMON models — known for delivering advanced camera capabilities at sub-flagship price points — the CAMON 50 is set to introduce AI-powered imaging enhancements aimed at redefining mobile photography in its category.
According to the company, the new series integrates advanced AI scene recognition and intelligent image processing, enabling smarter photo capture, improved detail, and faster optimisation across different shooting conditions.
Beyond photography, TECNO says the CAMON 50 series will feature practical AI tools designed to support content creation, multitasking and daily productivity — positioning the devices as comprehensive AI companions rather than camera-first smartphones alone.
POVA 8 targets performance and battery endurance
TECNO will also debut the POVA 8 series, aimed at users who prioritise performance, battery life and design. The lineup is expected to combine a bold visual identity with long-lasting battery endurance and smooth, all-round performance, reinforcing TECNO’s strategy of offering value-driven smartphones without sacrificing core hardware capabilities.
OneLeap ecosystem and AI connectivity upgrades
In addition to new devices, TECNO plans to spotlight major upgrades to its OneLeap ecosystem platform, which manages cross-device connectivity and AI-powered experiences. The company has hinted at deeper ecosystem integration, improved device management, and more seamless AI-driven interactions.
Visitors to MWC will be able to experience these capabilities firsthand at TECNO’s booth in Hall 7 at Fira Barcelona, where the brand will demonstrate how its AI ecosystem connects smartphones, software and emerging technologies.
Concept phones and experimental designs teased
Rounding out the showcase, TECNO confirmed it will unveil concept devices and technology prototypes — a staple of MWC that often previews the industry’s future direction. While details remain under wraps, the company says the concepts will explore new imaging technologies, interaction methods and device form factors.
TECNO is no stranger to experimental hardware. At last year’s MWC, the brand drew attention with a tri-fold smartphone concept, signalling its ambition to compete not just on price, but also on innovation.
With AI now positioned at the core of its product strategy, TECNO’s MWC 2026 showcase suggests the company is doubling down on a vision where intelligent features, accessible pricing and bold design converge — a formula increasingly resonant across Africa, Asia and other fast-growing smartphone markets.
