Collins Sefa At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Amazon unveiled its latest AI device, Bee, a wearable that can be clipped onto clothing or worn as a bracelet. Designed to extend AI interactions beyond the home, Bee joins Amazon’s existing ecosystem of Alexa-powered devices while offering a more personal, on-the-go AI experience.
Unlike Alexa, which primarily operates within Amazon’s smart home ecosystem, Bee focuses on the user’s life outside the home. The wearable records conversations during meetings, interviews, or classes and uses AI to summarize and organize information. It can also integrate with services like Gmail, Google Calendar, Apple Health, and phone contacts, allowing Bee to suggest follow-ups, to-do items, and daily insights tailored to individual users.
“Bee has the understanding of outside the house, and Alexa has the understanding of inside the house. Of course, there will be a future where these two things come together,” said Bee co-founder Maria de Lourdes Zollo during an interview at CES.
Amazon’s Alexa VP, Daniel Rausch, described Bee as a “deeply engaging and personal AI experience” and emphasized that combining Bee and Alexa in the future could offer even greater value to users by providing continuous, day-long AI support.
Current use cases for Bee include helping students summarize lectures, assisting elderly users with memory support, and supporting professionals who speak frequently but don’t want to manually take notes. The device transcribes conversations in real time but discards audio recordings after processing, prioritizing privacy while still offering actionable insights.
Bee’s eight-person development team in San Francisco is already working on additional features, including voice notes, templates, daily insights, and more, signaling a strong roadmap for 2026.
As Amazon expands its AI footprint with Bee, the company aims to bridge the gap between home-based and mobile AI, offering users a seamless and intelligent assistant that adapts to both environments.
