Collins Sefa Businessman Dr. Daniel McKorley, founder of the McDan Group, has challenged Ghana’s youth to stop waiting for ideal conditions and instead take bold steps to create their own opportunities.
Speaking at the 2025 National Youth Conference at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, Dr. McKorley shared his rise from a messenger to the head of a multinational conglomerate. He said his turning point came when he stopped dwelling on limitations and began maximizing the resources at hand.
“A turning point is the moment you say enough is enough and refuse to let your circumstances hold you back,” he told participants.

Dr. McKorley outlined what he called five pillars of achievement:

Focus on Emerging Sectors
He encouraged the youth to explore technology, agribusiness, green energy, and trade, sectors he described as ripe with opportunity. Self-reliance and responsibility, he said, are essential to unlocking potential.
“If the door doesn’t open, build your own door—and make it strong enough for others to walk through with you,” he added.
Describing the McDan brand as one “built from the streets,” he urged young people to act as catalysts for change in their communities and across the economy.
